From Masks to Meals
Dear KPC Family,
Our Masks with a Mission project has been more successful than we could have ever anticipated. By this time next week we will have donated almost 200 masks!
Thankfully, the need for masks in Miami is decreasing as the curve is flattening, praise God! But, there are still urgent needs in our community as a result of COVID-19.
During the Serve Team meeting earlier this week, we sensed God moving our direction from masks to meals. Meals with a Mission would feed individuals and families in need, both in our immediate church family and our extended church family.
An immediate need in our extended spiritual family is helping Youth for Christ missionary Stacy Morales, who is feeding 150 families every week through her ministry KIX (Kids in Christ) and Movement Church in Homestead. “KIX” may sound familiar to you; every year our Angel Tree toy drive is dedicated to helping the children of KIX celebrate Christmas with presents.
We want to support KIX and Movement Church in two ways—
1) Financially— helping them purchase ingredients for their food relief efforts.
2) In Person— volunteering to serve “Grab and Go” meals Tuesdays and Thursdays in Homestead from 10:30am–1:00pm.
There will be different opportunities to serve our extended family in Homestead in the coming weeks, but for right now, these are their most urgent needs.
If God has put food relief on your heart, this is an opportunity to love our neighbors and meet their needs. Donations can be made online or mailed in to the church office (please specify it’s for “Meals with a Mission”). If you are able and willing to volunteer once or twice a week in Homestead, please email Pastor Victor at and we can coordinate.
Thank you again, church family, for continuing to answer the call to Serve your community and love your neighbor as Christ has loved you. We trust and pray that God is glorified as his people are fed, until the day when they will hunger and thirst no more.
